Don’t Trade Your Destiny

Genesis 25:19-34

Questions to help you dig deeper into this message:

Read Genesis 25:19-34. What stood out and ministered to you most from this message?

Exodus 3:10, Exodus 4:10, Judges 6:14-15, Jeremiah 1:4-7a – Pastor Michael gave three examples of those in the Bible that were approached by the Lord with an incredible opportunity to be used by Him in ministry, yet each time those same individuals resisted. What are some reasons that people resist the Lord today when He calls them to something great?

Read Hebrews 12:16-17. It was mentioned that “irreverent” can mean ‘godless’, ‘profane’, ‘wanting nothing to do with God’… and that the root comes from an idea to “cross the threshold” (from a ‘holy’ place to a ‘common’ place). Talk about what this means for us today. How can we make something meant for God’s glory and cause it to be ‘common’? Have you seen this in your own life?

Talk about the following quote: “When we live without a larger sense of our ‘birthright’, we fall prey to our smaller desires… and our cravings get the best of us. And then we look back at our lives over the past months… or years… and instead of our lives reflecting this greatness of what it means to be called by God… the ‘beans’ become a summation of our lives.”

Have you ever known anyone who lived with regrets? At the end of life will you be a person that has regret? Why or why not?
