Genesis 8:5-9

Questions to help you dig deeper into the message

for your family devotions or small groups:

What stood out/ministered to you most in this message?

Optional Opening Discussion Questions: Read Leviticus 4:1-7. “It was an accident I didn’t mean to do it” – where have you heard that recently from your children? Your spouse? From your excusing conscience? “What they don’t know won’t hurt them” – Did you ever use this logic to hide some “private” matter from someone close to you? What happened when they eventually found out? What childish notion of “sin” do you still have? What do you see as “childish” about it?

Regular Questions: What is one of the priest’s most important jobs? How can the Lord be ‘misrepresented‘ by us at times?

Why did the priest have to ‘grab the bull’? How does this relate to taking communion?

What did Pastor Michael mean when he said, as priests, we, too, needed to be ‘by the horns’? Read the following Scriptures and discuss them in relation to being worshippers: John 4:23, Hebrews 13:15, Revelation 4:11, 1 Peter 2:9, Philippians 3:3, Psalm 95:6.

Read Hebrews 9:22. How would you explain this verse, and it’s implications concerning Jesus, to a non-Christian?

Read 2 Chronicles 16:9. How does this Scripture relate to Genesis 8:8-9?

In what aspects of your life do you NEED the empowering of God’s Spirit? Close by praying for one another concerning this.
