Heartbeat: “Healing & Restoration”

Matthew 12:9-13

Questions to help you dig deeper into this message:

What stood out and ministered to you most from this message, and this weekend?

Read Mark 2:17. Jesus was all about ministering to folks that were hurting. Why should His followers be as well?

A quote from Charles Spurgeon was read: “There are many sorts or broken hearts, and Christ is good at healing them all.” Talk about a time when you have witnessed this to be true in your own life or in someone else’s?

Read Matthew 12:9-13. Pastor Michael talked about how the enemy’s most wicked plan is to ‘distract’. How have you seen this done in your own life?

Read Matthew 18:20. If Jesus is with us when we gather, why do we often not recommend the hurting and wounded to come to church where He is? Do you think that people no longer believe they can come into our churches with a withered hand (marriage, financial issues, job issues, children issues, etc), and that Jesus will meet them there and touch them miraculously? Practically, how can we change this perception?

When Jesus told the man in our text to “stretch out your hand” he didn’t argue or debate why he couldn’t, he simply obeyed and AS he obeyed, God met him there. It was stated that “in God’s powerful commands are His enablements“. Talk about what this means. (Samples of His commands were given: 1 Thess. 5:16-18; Ephesians 5:22, 25; Romans 6:11; Ephesians 4:25).
