Questions to help you dig deeper into this message:
Read Genesis 22:1-3. Here we read; “After these things God tested Abraham“. What are some of the things that Abraham had already been through that prepared him for the testing of the Lord?
Read 1 Corinthians 10:13. Pastor Michael mentioned, “there is no difference between a temptation and a test, for in any situation that comes our way, Satan means it for a temptation to pull us down – but God intends it as a test to pull us through. Satan means to destroy us, to shake us up. God uses the same event to edify us and show us off.” Talk about a time you went through a personal trial and you could see these two things happening to you. How did you respond?
Why would a follower of Jesus ever consider it ‘great joy‘ when they experience trials? James 1:2-4. Why do you think this verse doesn’t say, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, just in case you encounter various trials”? What does it say?
Why must we never shy away from the tough, Mt. Moriah – Mountain Top Experiences that loom over us? What would need to happen in your own heart for you to come out of those Moriah Moments saying, “I wouldn’t have it any other way – I’m being transformed into exactly what God wants me to be (a man or woman of faith, hope, and love – complete) and I’m in closer communion with Him than ever before”?
