Questions to help you dig deeper into the message
for your family devotions or small groups:
Read Genesis 11:1-9. Man builds with brick, God with stone. Pastor Michael stated that bricks can chip and break, much like man’s efforts. How have we seen this illustrated in our day?
In 1 Peter 2:5 what is God building? What is He using?
How is Genesis 11:4 a direct violation of Genesis 9:1? How important is it that we obey the Lord “exactly”?
We see David’s heart in Psalm 40:16-17 – “But may all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who long for Your saving help always say, “The Lord is great!” But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; You are my God, do not delay” (NIV). How is this a reflection of what David states in verse 4 of this chapter? How is it a reflection of what Jesus states in John 15:5? Does it reflect your heart?
Read 1 Peter 2:9 and Galatians 3:28. Practically, how is true unity achieved?
Finish by reading Proverbs 3:5-6 and praying for each other to be those who trust God, rather than man, with our lives.
