Something Missing?

IS SOMETHING MISSING IN YOUR LIFE?

IS SOMETHING MISSING IN YOUR LIFE?

REALIZE YOUR NEED
REALIZE YOUR NEED

The Bible says “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Do you have the courage to admit that you, like all of us, are messed up? If you do, read on…

RECEIVE GOD’S GIFT
RECEIVE GOD’S GIFT

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). God didn’t have to love you enough to send His only Son to die for you… but He did. While we were living our lives in such
a way that we were actually mocking God, He died for us—that is amazing love! That is why we call what God did a ‘gift’. But like any gift, you have to receive it. You have to say, “Okay God I accept what You did for me.”

CONFESS & BELIEVE
CONFESS & BELIEVE

“…if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). When we say, “Jesus is Lord’, it means that He is “Boss”—He’s “in charge” of things now. This is more than just saying these words out-loud. To ‘confess’ that ‘Jesus is Lord’ is to live your life like you actually believe this to be true. You ‘confess’ it by un-ashamedly living it before others. This shows that you really believe.

MAKE THE FOLLOWING COMMITMENT
MAKE THE FOLLOWING COMMITMENT

“God, thank You for loving me. I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I know that You died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I want to turn from my sins and give You control of my life. Please come into my life right now. Lord, help me to follow You always by talking to me and helping me grow closer to You. I don’t understand how You can love me so much, but I am so grateful for Your love, and now am truly in love with You too. In Jesus’ name… Amen.”

WHAT NOW?

GET INTO THE BIBLE

You simply can’t start a relationship with God without being in the WORD OF GOD! Make sure that you get a Bible. If you need one, let us know. The Bible can seem like an intimidating book when you first look at it, but each and every word within it has been inspired by God’s Holy Spirit to speak to all generations of believers, including us today. God calls us individually to immerse ourselves in His Word and to faithfully interpret and live it out, as we are led by the Spirit of God. We think a great place to start is by reading the Book of John.

PRAY

God created humans in His image to live in fellowship with Him. Because of how Jesus has made a way for you to be forgiven of all your sins, you now have 24-hour access to God. You can speak to Him about anything! 1 John 5:14 declares: “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” As with any relationship that we have, communication is the key. Spending time each day to talk with God will cause your relationship to develop and prove to be some of your most favorite times.

GO TO CHURCH

The church is rooted and grounded in Christ, practicing spiritual disciplines and celebrating the fact that we’re all saved and forgiven. The church is also a global and local expression of living out the way of Jesus through love, peace, sacrifice, and healing as we embody the resurrected Christ, who lives in and through us, to a broken and hurting world. When Christians hang out together it’s called ‘fellowship’. Fellowship and connecting with other believers is vital to our growth. Hebrews 10:25says: “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.” Make every effort to attend church at least once a week. If you are unable to attend Alpine Chapel, then please find a Bible-believing and teaching church nearby where you can experience fellowship and consistent teaching. If you would like help finding a church near you, please contact us and we’d be happy to help!

GET BAPTIZED

One of the cool things that Jesus asks new believers to do is to get baptized. ‘Baptize’ is a word that may not be familiar to you, but that’s okay. Someone at the church can explain exactly what it is in detail, but in short it is a way for new believers to declare to the world their new-found love for Jesus. Romans 6:4 states: “For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.” At Alpine Chapel, we have opportunities to be baptized at different times during the year, but mostly in the Summer months due to the cold and our lack of a baptismal tank (although we’ve been known to dunk folks in someone’s hot tub!) Click HERE to learn more about baptism and to view some answers to frequently asked questions concerning baptism.

GET CONNECTED

At Alpine Chapel, we know that we grow when we are in fellowship and study of Scriptures with fellow believers. Our church offers several different opportunities to accomplish just that. One of those opportunities is a class we call “CORNERSTONES”. This class is a safe and fun place where you can ask questions. CORNERSTONES will help you understand the basic truths about the Bible and your new relationship with Jesus Christ. Along with this amazing class, we’ve provided this website where you’ll find all kinds of opportunities for you to meet other Christians and join with them in learning, serving, and growing. Take your time to go through this website to learn where you best can get connected.

The following is, perhaps, a simpler way to explain this whole “Jesus-thing”: THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION: Why would anyone put off the most important decision they could ever make in their lives concerning eternal life?

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – One of the first radical followers of Jesus was a guy named Paul, he was an ‘apostle’ (from Greek apostolos, “person sent”). He told us exactly what the ‘GOSPEL’ is: “Now I want to make clear for you, brothers and sisters, the gospel I preached to you, which you received, on which you have taken your stand and by which you are being saved, if you hold to the message I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures“

Gospel simply means ‘good news’. Your debt has been paid, the death penalty has been paid, you are free!

One time Jesus brought in a little child, as a living object lesson, to show what kind of person can enter the kingdom of Heave. “Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you turn and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3).

Truthfully, salvation is as easy as ABC:

A – Admit that you are a sinner. This is where that godly sorrow leads to genuine repentance for sinning against a righteous God and there is a change of heart, we change our mind and God changes our hearts and regenerates us from the inside out. Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9

B – Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Jesus from the dead. This is trusting with all your heart that Jesus Christ is who He said He was. Romans 10:9-10.

C – Call upon the name of the Lord. Every single person who ever lived since the first man (Adam) will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Lord of lords and the King of kings. Romans 14:11

Don’t wait until later – do this now – Romans 10:13 declares, “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
