About Colby
Colby and his wife Leslie live in Telluride with their four children — sons Lachlan, Bridger, and Remington, and daughter Vivian. A former Captain in the United States Marine Corps, Colby led infantry and scout/sniper platoons throughout the Pacific Rim and the Middle East as part of Operations Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley, where he attended on an NROTC scholarship, studied at Oxford University, and later earned his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School. He is also a Registered Professional Engineer.
Colby is an entrepreneur and a builder of businesses. He grew GeoStabilization International from a small family company into North America’s leading provider of geohazard mitigation services. He and Leslie then founded Honey Rock Landing, Colorado’s second-largest organic fruit orchard; Fourthsign, a production company that has created multiple documentaries highlighting the plight of Ukrainian Christians suffering under Russia’s invasion; and the Silver Cloud Lodge, a boutique hospitality portfolio and via ferrata currently under construction near Silverton, Colorado. When he is not working or chasing his kids’ adventures, you can find Colby and his family enjoy traveling the world and all things Telluride — skiing, hiking, hunting, paragliding, and exploring the mountains together. Above all else, Colby loves the Lord and the journey of knowing Him better, and is grateful for the opportunity to serve The Alpine Chapel.
